Minneapolis Trip

Following the July 8th Pee Wee game, Jerry, Richard, Jayden, & I jumped in the jam-packed suburban for a trip to Minneapolis. Mark & Richard were among the fans to watch the team's first loss by one point!
We met up with Jason & Tiff at the Holiday Inn in Maple Grove.
Jayden enjoyed the pool for a short while before the pool closed.
Chad met us after he got off work. This was his last day at the Plymouth Target Store. Monday he begins a new store in Medina.
Thursday night we were joined by Nathan, Jeni, Sherry, & the kids at Chad's house. We're happy to be here!
Chad & Jenny are great hosts. They give thumbs up for three years of wedded bliss! Their anniversary is July 14.
Richard's slouchy socks were a topic of conversation around the campfire. His neices agreed they have to go! Jeni bought him a pack of Nike low-cut socks at the Mall of America the following day. You'll see a pic later of the socks Kaydra bought for him!
Sherry celebrated her 54th (sorry, Sherry!) on Friday.
Friday was" Mall of America Day." The map was studied, we divided up, & "Let the shopping begin!"
The escalators provided fun for the first few minutes!
Kaydra's first stop was the Justice store. That's when the boys decided they needed to split up & find their sport's memorabilia stores. Nathan took Kaydra & Claire, & Sherry & I took the boys.
Cole debated & debated over whether to buy the Twin's Build-a-Bear. He later decided on something else.
Jayden is a Yankee fan, & Cole is a Twin fan. Jason, Tiff, & Jayden attended the Twins-Yankee game Thursday. Friday night we all attended the Twins game. Jayden sported a Twin's shirt, but couldn't take off his Yankees cap. He received a little grief at the game!
Kaydra bought this cute "Little Kitty" at the Build-a-Bear workshop.
Cole looked ALL over for a Twins wallet, & when he finally found one, decided on the expensive leather embroidered wallet. Jayden decided he could use a new one too.
We left the Mall, & decided to head over to the stadium early. We found parking across the street, & cruised around for a few hours seeing the sights.
Hopes of catching a ball during Batting Practice.
The Anderson Family
The Schmelz family (Something just doesn't look right!) I didn't get a pic of them all in their Yankee gear the day before.
The whole gang before the Twins-White Sox game
New team managers?
Let the game begin!
Jayden looks a little confused at why people are looking at him strangely!
Cole & Kaydra with their "Circle Me Bert" posters.
They came in handy after the game, as it was raining.
Tiff caught a ball during Batting Practice. She signed it, & gave it to her favorite son!
Richard sports the new socks Kaydra bought him at the Mall. He's hoping to set a new trend when he gets back to Boise.
Sherry was the "Birthday Princess" Friday night.
Tiff was the "Birthday Princess" Saturday. She celebrated her 30th!
Saturday was "Valley Fair" day!

They started out getting SOAKED on the Log Run.
Dawn & DJ surprised Tiff on her birthday, along with Dawn's parents from Big Bear Lake!
Pronto Pup break!
Cole tried just two shots & won a basketball! Awesome job, Cole!
Claire loved the rides!
Chad & Jenny met us a little later (Jenny had a Sat. morning work meeting).
Chad won these mini guitars.
The Water Park is a new addition to Valley Fair this year.

The princess (or Cinderella, as she wanted to be called that night) has arrived! She got a new princess dress from Tiff & Jason for her birthday.
Chad entertained us Sat. night with his guitar. He took several requests, and even listened to Kaydra's ipod & played along with the Taylor Swift songs he hadn't heard. Now that's talent!
We left for home Sunday morning. Thanks for the great week-end, Chad!

Driving through Fargo, we decided to stop in at NDSU so Richard could see how the campus had changed. Hewlett-Packard appreciates the good education he got here.

Monday we celebrated ONE more special birthday! Richard is 5o!! We had an "Over the Hill" cheesecake for dessert with an Italian Spaghetti meal.
Lookin good at 50!
Art & Lana, Matt & Tara, Nathan & Jeni, Sherry, Mom & Dad, & kids celebrated the occasion!

Audrey & Claire kept bringing Richard stickers to stick on his gift bag. So cute!
His expression shows that 50 is finally sinking in!
Very pregnant Tara uses the candy map to carefully choose her chocolate!
