Pre-Holiday Fun!

Rich arrived on the midnight flight Thursday for hunting and the Thanksgiving holiday. He must have been expecting warm weather!
The next morning, Jerry & Rich headed for the Badlands. This porcupine was a curious fellow.
Jerry got his deer opening week-end, so is scouting for Rich.
He got this doe mid-morning. I can't say I enjoy these pics!
Meanwhile, Sherry, Mom, & I got together to finish the Christmas decorating and mix up a batch of fudge for the Thanksgiving holiday. This has been a tradition the last few years in our family. Sherry is the ultimate fudge-maker!
Dad is the ultimate salad-maker! He cooked a delicious roast pork supper for us, while we kept busy.
Mom was kitchen supervisor...
checking out the candy thermometer,
while I got the fun job of putting ornaments on the tree!
The finished product!
First taste-tester! It was approved!
The decorating is completed, so now it's time to sit back and enjoy the season!

The Christ Lutheran Bazaar's star pie-maker!
Saturday Mark arrived on the train from Mpls. He didn't get much sleep, but was happy to play a game of Monopoly with Kaydra. We had a delicious egg bake and apple bread to celebrate his arrival!
The Andersons had Christmas pictures Saturday. Cole snuck in a few minutes prior to pictures to practice "Hot Cross Buns." Taja gives you an A+, Cole.
Saturday night, we had a sloppy joe supper. We're usually not very hungry after sampling the appetizers!
Good times were had by all!

Cole went shopping with his Grandma Lana, and came back with this awesome Green Bay throw.
Claire thinks her daddy is the best!

Good Spirits after a brisk morning walk.
Sunday Dad celebrated his birthday at our place for scalloped potatoes, meatballs, calif. veggies, & squash. Last year was his big 80th event. Mom's birthday is Thanksgiving day! What a special month!
Make a wish!
Gift opening is fun at any age!

Dad entertained us with his favorite chords on the piano. Nice job, Dad!
The kitchen crew!
Claire looks so grown up in this pic! What a beauty!
Winding down after a very busy, but fun week-end!

Thanks so much for including Art and me in your delicious "sloppy joe" supper!! ... and the fudge was SCRUMPTIOUS. We really enjoyed watching your awesome "Badlands" hunting video, and we enjoyed watching the space shuttle from Nathan&Jeni's back yard with the family, too! Please tell your mom and dad Happy Birthday from us!!!
