April 22, 2011

Friday morning Mom, Dad, Sherry, and I took off in foggy conditions for Minneapolis. We would stay with Mark Fri. night, and travel with him to my Uncle Gaylord's (mom's brother) funeral in Beloit, WI. We were saddened by his sudden death. He was a great man, loved by many!
Friday night at Red Lobster in Mpls.
Saturday morning we awoke to this cute bunny in Mark's yard. (Had to take a pic, since Easter is the next day!)
Leaving early Sat. morning for Beloit.

Wisconsin Dells coming up!
We met Uncle Gene (mom's brother) for lunch before the funeral.

We had a long trip back to Mpls., so left shortly after the beautiful service for Gaylord.
Arriving back in Mpls. before midnight.
Easter morning, Dad (who shouldn't really be doing this yet), washed all the windows in his car. He left his cane inside. He also did most of the driving on this trip. (First roadtrip in 4 months for him!)

Chad met us for lunch at Perkins.

Chad and Jenny stopped over that afternoon for a short while. Chad works Logistics at Target now, so works very early morning hours.

Jenny's dad has been training Iraqui soldiers. He had to learn the language before his assignment. He'll return in July after a 6 month stay.
He sent this to Jenny.
Sunday afternoon walk around Parker's Lake in Plymouth. Beautiful day!

The wildflowers were in bloom!

Trees were budding out after the long winter!
Macaroni Grill for supper!

Flood waters have subsided in Fargo. This part of the Interstate was closed previously. We're on our way home, with stops in Mayville and Cooperstown.

Dad's sisters Dorothy and Margaret (who will be 90 in Nov.) met us at Paula's Cafe.
Alice also met us there for lunch. Can you believe Alice is 93? She was going home to rake her lawn after lunch!

A must stop before leaving Mayville - the bakery! Best donuts ever!
Dorothy insisted on buying these for us!
Dad absolutely LOVED being behind the wheel once again!
Last stop was Cooperstown to visit good friends John and Marge. Dad missed seeing John in Mesa, as Dad was unable to go, due to his hip fracture Christmas Eve.
