Yakima Days 2,3,4

Our second day in Yakima began with Jill's delicious coffee and chocolate chip cookies. Some were brought to work, as Jill's office crew was busy with renovation and needed chocolate!
That night we dined at The Taj, and ate scrumptious Indian food!
Then, Nicole & Paul invited us to one of their famous "Pool Parties." John orders his special drink?
We heard they were the Ultimate Hosts, and we agreed! Nicole found out our favorite boxed wine, and...
presented it to Sherry & I along with this note. What a welcome to Yakima!
A few Yakima Sun King tropies
Nicole, (a college basketball athlete herself), poses by the "Wall of Fame" with hubby Paul, (former Sun King coach), and Rich, (former Sun King manager). They used to play our former SkyRockets.
Nicole shows us her "tomato trees!"
Jenn & Jill are quite a duo!
A really bad pic of the beautiful pool. I should have taken a pic before the sun went down!
Since campfires were banned, and the triple digit temps disappeared when we came, we enjoyed heat from the patio heater.
Jenn shows off her wedding ring. She and Rich were recently married.
Not sure how to interpret this, but all I can say is "Yakima people sure know how to entertain!"
Making plans for the day!
"Maybe we can organize!" says Jill.
"This way's the kitchen, Janelle!"
Stripey gets a new do.
Disco says, "I'll pass!"
Friday, we decided to venture up into the mountains to Leavenworth, a Bavarian Village. On the way, we stopped at one of the numerous fruit stands.
Next stop was the "Ole Elum Bakery" for their world famous apple fritters. Sherry & I bought Maple Long Johns, which we found out are called Maple Bars in WA. (We also bought an assortment of other baked delights!)
We made it to Leavenworth (top of the mountain!), and had to have the most delicious brats and German beer.
A few scenes from beautiful Leavenworth.

On the way back, we stopped at another fruit stand. John bought apricots for jam, and the great news was, Sherry finally found the farmer she has been looking for all her life!

John made his apricot jam that night. Jill is one lucky girl!
Here's to a great day!
John was relieved that I didn't yell once on the mountain roads to slow down! (Although I still have a hard time believing him when he says the 40mph signs around the curves are just a suggestion in WA!!)
We watched a few of John's wonderful photos. One of his got selected for the WA Tourism book!
We already miss that smile!
We loved relaxing on the patio in the evening. Thanks for the great times!
