Week-end with Chad

Chad rode the train from Mpls. (even after his last 23 hr. trip!) He spent a little R&R looking at photo albums. Jason, Tiff, & Jayden were planning on coming home also, and got as far as Langdon, and turned around, due to extremely icy conditions. The forecast for the week-end was 6-12 inches of snow, and high winds Sunday. It turned out that we didn't get much more than 5 inches, but highways are still icy!
Nathan had his night class, so couldn't make the Ground Round Thursday. Sherry, Jeni, Chad, Jerry, and I were happy to have Chad home!

There's never a dull moment with Chad around. He brightens everyone's day with his good dispositon and sense of humor!
He went through the extra hassle of packing his guitar on the train to entertain my class. They have been waiting to hear him play! He didn't know all the Taylor Swift and Myley Cyrus songs requested by the girls though!

Since some were wondering where his electric guitar was, we decided to put one of his band's songs from YouTube on the Smartboard. They loved this! Chad even had a guitar solo.
Thanks Chad! You made our day!
Mine too!
Friday night, everyone decided to camp out at our place, because of the storm warnings. Cole's basketball tournament in Bismarck was postponed. We all enjoyed a pork roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, & California veggies supper. That's usually Grandma's special dinner. We miss you mom!
Wasn't there room for you at the table, Sherry?
Taja came with, and Chad is glad she did!
Cole found Chad's childhood legos and had a great time designing airplanes for Claire and him.
Sherry enjoyed a little "Facebook Time!"
The guys enjoyed a little "Poker Time!"

Taja smelled something cooking in the kitchen.
It's Nathan's famous Nachos! Mmmm. They were as tasty as they look!
The next morning, Cole played two games with his YMCA team, and scored 10 points in one game! We're pretty proud of you Cole!
We're also pretty proud of your "Hot Dog" tongue you can make, Claire! I caught her looking in the mirror, and she said, "Look, I can make my tongue look like a Hot Dog!"
Cole was so patient with Claire Friday night. He decided not to "undo" the boat Chad had made year's ago!
Saturday afternoon the laptops were buzzing! Nathan set up his new Mac.
Claire listened carefully to instructions on how to shoot from her wonderful daddy.
Cole watches Dad make a great shot! Cole has really become an excellent pool player also!
Chad joked around with us about not having our Christmas lights up for him, as he had to work during Christmas, and couldn't make it home. His last night home, the cords were dug out of the snow banks and lights turned on!
Claire has begun making faces for the camera! They love their ice cream and chocolate. Evidently, Taja doesn't?
They also love each other! Love, love this pic.
After the hug, Chad asked Claire for one too, since he was leaving for Mpls. in a few hours. Since that didn't happen, he asked her for a "High Five." That didn't happen either, so Cole gave him one! We'll sure miss you Chad! Take care!
Claire cut little pieces of paper for the longest time. She was using scrapbook scissors, which are a little difficult for small hands, but did a great job! She's been watching big brother Cole. Happy snipping, Claire!
