Labor Day Week-end

Jerry's brother Richard arrived after a 17 hr. trip from Boise. H.P. had their engineers working every week-end this summer on a new product, so hew was ready to relax at the lake! First job-netting my sunglasses from the water!
Rich and Jerry enjoy the one nice night (Fri.) of Labor Day Week-end!
Fri. night we went to the A-Frame for dinner, and ran into Brandi and Brayden. Jeremy was working all week-end, unfortunately!
Brayden warmed up to Richard. He has that magic touch with kids! Must be his experience with his own three!
The food took a long time, but was worth the wait!
Outside the A-Frame
You'll see a few more of these Boise State sweatshirts! Rich has now bought all of us one. Thanks Richard!
It doesn't get any better than this!
Sherry seconds that!
Jerry was up QUITE early mowing the lawn, and one creature couldn't sleep...
No, not this one!
This one! Couldn't get a good picture, but he (the neighbor's porcupine) came out, and he was enormous! Jerry hunts in the Badlands, and sees plenty of them, but has never seen one this big!
I'm not sure if Jayden is hiding from the porcupine, or just proving how big this cooler is. It's 4 feet long!
Mom, Dad, Mark, Tiff, Jason, and Jayden arrived Saturday. Jayden had camped out at Icelandic Park with friend Dawson the night before, and was up very late!

Morning coffee and discussion about plans for the day with a high of 60, clouds, and wind! Mark and Dad decide to go golfing!
Siblings
Mom brought her famous brownies, and Jayden jokes around, grabbing the whole pan!

It looks beautiful, but note the sweatshirts!
More sweatshirts!
According to Dad, Mark played a pretty good golf game!
Dinner preparations!
I believe we ate around 50 pounds of corn this summer, thanks to Lynn!

I think 50 games of Bocce Ball were played also!

The fabulous dinner!
We've got to work off all that lake food somehow!

Many games of Snood have been played.
Oops! Guess this pic of our furry, spiny friend got out of order!
Jayden shows Great Grandma something on his ipod.
It's never too cold for a campfire!

Pre-breakfast! (Jayden's hand!)
Biscuits and gravy
Mom and Dad usually bring plenty of fruit!
The Andersons attended Nathan's cousin Molly Lundeen's wedding the night before, and arrived around 1:a.m. claire was so tired, she fell asleep with her beautifully done hair and dress. The next morning she looked like this! (Still gorgeous!)
Mom also made this yummy Veggie Pizza!
Nathan is a little sore from performing "The Worm" at the wedding dance the night before.
A cool day is great for making "Friendship Bracelets!"
I wish I would have gotten pics of all the wedding attire the night before, but I guess my brain doesn't work all that well after midnight! Kaydra sure looked beautiful in her dress also!
On to coloring!
A trip to Pamida was in order!

The Boise State fans! What? Dave didn't get a sweatshirt?
Pulled pork, beans, and buns. Lynn, they're not homeade. We need another refresher course!
We found a really good coleslaw recipe that goes well with pulled pork. Thanks Taste of Home!
Cheesy potatoes completed the meal!
Oh, and more corn!
DQ ice cream cake for Mark's 50th Birthday!
Can't believe our little brother is 50!!
The book was a joke for Mark! He is a strong Democrat, so Jerry (a strong Republican), put this in for a gag gift.
Claire is amused!
Of course a George Bush card was also appropriate!
We had all the decorations ready for the pontoon, and because of the weather with high winds, couldn't do it!
Trampoline tricks!
Claire has to get in on the trampoline fun also!
To each, his own!

Cozying up to the warm fire!
Breakfast sausage on the grill
Monday morning we all headed back before the rain began. Schmelz's are off to Cavalier.
The brothers had a great time, despite the weather. The rain began, just as we pulled out of the driveway, and continued, and continued...
Remember all that food at the lake? Well, we hauled it all home (in that 4 foot long cooler), and had a "Leftover Dinner" Monday night.
Monday night was that tense Boise State game!

They ended up with a win!

Wednesday night was pork roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, creamed green beans, and rhubarb cake night!

Cole gave a "Thumbs up" to Great Grandma and Grandpa!

Thursday night was scalloped potatoes and ham, BBQ pork chops, squash, Calif. veggies, and cheesecake night.

Oops! DQ cake! Monday was cheesecake!
I earned those rolls around my middle! Next week there will be drastic changes!
The Viking's game didn't end as well as the Boise State game!
Claire will probably be my new trainer!

Friday night was Sherry's lasagna, salad, and garlic toast night.

Cole invited 6 or so friends over for pizza after they were done at the Y Friday night.

Kudos to the cook!

Entertainment - Free!
Richard and Mark look a little puzzled!
Precious moments!
Claire's friend Payton and Avary spent the night. She and her sister have been Daycare friends of Claire. Payton started Kindergarten, so doesn't come to daycare anymore. Claire has missed her!
Rich leaves early, as he has to be on the road at 6 a.m. for his 17 hr. return trip to Boise.
How could I forget about Jeni's famous apple crisp for dessert! Yum! What great food, family, and memories!
