Oct. 8

Sherry, Jeni, Nathan, and I helped paint trim and doors at their home. Perfect weather for it! Since Nathan was the tallest, he got the higher windows!
I was put on door and lower window trim duty.
While we worked outdoors, Jeni and Sherry were busy painting Claire's room purple. It turned out really cute!
Their house is spruced up for the long, harsh winter ahead. Hopefully it won't be that bad, but I've head rumors...
Fall is the time when my apples are ready. Most of them blew off before they were ready this year, and hungry deer ate them right off the tree!
Friday night we traveled to Cavalier for Jayden's football game Saturday in Park River. Jayden was at the high school game when we arrived, but ran home during half-time to let us know he won the "Dollars for Scholars" frisbee toss!

The Schmelz home is decorated for Halloween!
We were all up early for the trip to Park River Saturday. (I went to elementary school there, so it was fun to be back). Jayden got two tackles, so was happy! He's number 80. Good friend Dawson had 3 touchdowns! Way to go boys!

I was going to grab a couple of Jayden's buddies for a picture, when they all gathered around chanting, "Wheeler-Wheeler-Wheeler", and "Smile for your grandma!" Jayden was only slightly embarrassed!!

Good game guys!

We left Park River around 1:00, and headed for Metigoshe, as Tiff and Jason had a wedding to attend at the lake. Jayden grabbed his favorite snack for the trip-Beef Jerkey.
Wind farm along the way
Jayden studied the map, as Jerry decided to deviate from the GPS!
We made a stop for football cards at Walmart in Bottineau.
Jayden hadn't been to the lake in awhile, and couldn't believe the water level had dropped about a foot!
We all jumped in the pontoon to enjoy the beautiful fall day.

Someone just had to jump in - to say he did on Oct. 8th...
Yep, Jason!
The Birchwood was the restaurant of choice! Jayden ordered his favorite shrimp dinner.

Tiff and Jason were off to Twin Oaks for the reception.
Tiff and friends Kass and Shannon
Sensational Sunday morning sunrise!
Jayden's ready for another Poker game!
Beautiful morning for grilling!
Later than usual for week-ends at the lake!
Jerry and Jayden decided to try some fishing.

No luck fishing, so Jayden drove the boat home.
He thought he could dock himself...
but Jerry decided he should help guide him in.
I had Jayden change back into his football gear to take pics of him with us, as we hadn't done that at yesterday's game. (I did have to bribe him with a little money!)

The photo shoot wasn't TOO painful!

A little horsin' around followed!

One last ride on this gorgeous day!

Thanks for the great week-end!
