Dad makes the world's best stew! There are a few secret ingredients that we just can't match!

Mom prepares garlic toast to go with the stew.

Opening week-end of Deer Season, John, Jerry, Sheldon, and two others left for the Badlands.

A few antelope were spotted, but not many deer.

The following week-end, Jerry, Scott, Sheldon, and Andrew gave it another try. Jerry got this nice buck.

Scot posed with the buck.

Scot was able to bag this on the same day.

Dad prepares a nice meal for Sherry and I when we came to help out with a few chores.

Nov. 18th Richard arrived from Boise to attend the Viking-Packer game in Mpls. that week-end.

Rich, Jerry, and Chad were all smiles BEFORE the game!

The Packers ended up losing big time. Coach Childress was fired the following week.

Jenny and Chad love their cats! The guys stayed with them while in Mpls. and had a great time!

The Wed. before Thanksgiving, Andrew surprised JoAnn by stopping in her classroom.

She brought him over to my room next. Andrew is finished student teaching in PE at the end of the semester.

When the guys returned from Mpls. they made their famous deer stew.

Yum!

Claire is quite musical, and has expressed an interest in playing piano. Nathan teaches her the song Mom just taught him. Maybe Great Grandma will have a new piano student!

Black Friday ads were studied carefully Thanksgiving morning. The paper was really late that day!

Dinner begins!

Stuffed from all that turkey!

Sherry & I put out a light meal for supper that night.

Mother and daughters

Siblings

Tiff, Jason, and Jayden arrived Wed. night on some tough roads. Blizzard conditions were predicted, so we didn't know if they'd even make it for Thanksgiving. We're thankful they did!

Jayden is thankful for his Great Grandma and Grandpa!

Jayden and Tiff are thankful for Taja!

Kaydra and Nathan converse over their laptops!

Four controllers were used for gaming, so all could play!

Friday night we attended Downtown's "Old Fashioned Christmas!" The stores were open, so the boys popped into their favorite card shop!

Nathan helps Claire with her cap. Luckily temps were mild for this event. Temps have been well below normal prior to Thanksgiving.

Claire enjoys her toasted marshmallow.

The boys toast theirs to "Burnt perfection!"

Claire loves her Great Grandpa!

The Sundahls enjoyed the sights and treats!

Who would have thought hot grapefruit juice and Dr. Pepper would taste so good?

"Cookies for You" was a "must stop" along the way!

The lighting of the Christmas tree was a highlight!

Lindsay and Dawn even joined in on the fun!

The boys just had to climb the snow hill before getting into the car.

Leftover turkey dinner was on the agenda afterwards. The girls catch up with what's going on in their lives.

Taj awaits Sherry's tray to clean when she's finished.

Cindy, Scot, and Josie joined us that night. We had a great time with them!

A little "Horsin' around" went on in the shop later that night! Dawn mans the horse.

Lindsay and Jeni ride the bike.

Tiff gets the tractor ready for snow removal! (and later rides!)

Friday was Mom's birthday. I'm sure she'll put this cutting board to good use!

Mark says "Everyone can use a good Oral-B toothbrush!" He also got her a laptop for her birthday!

Guest author Paul Olthoff stopped by later to autograph his new book "Hit and Run" which was recently published. I can't wait to read it!

Drew and Paul

The boys claimed there were no places available at the table, so had to eat by their laptops!

Saturday Sherry and I took the kids to a movie. Claire loves popcorn, and ate about a third of the bag before passing it on to Sherry and I. (who took care of the rest!) She commented to Sherry, "This popcorn is really shiny!"

The boys had to try out the Hurricane Wind machine!

The kids got some spending money from Great Grandma and Grandpa, so we headed to Target. Claire went directly to the clothing department, and purchased a shirt, pajamas, scarf, and over the knee socks. The boys purchased (you guessed it), cards!

Last we stopped at Cold Stone for some cotton candy with sprinkles ice cream.

That night Mom and Dad took us all out to the Moose Club.

Nathan arrived after his presentation at church. He's donating all proceeds from the sale of his beautiful calendars to Zion Lutheran. Wow! That's admirable!

Jayden ordered an 8 ounce sirloin. Steak is his favorite meal. He said T-bones used to be his favorite, but now he prefers Sirloin!

We study insects in third grade science, so I asked Dad if he possibly still had his insect collection from college.

He found it, and miracuously, it was well-preserved after 50 years! The boys thought it was great!

Pool was the game of the night.

Then Claire snuggled up with her blanket to watch her new Barbie Fashion dvd. She's eating the fundraiser chocolates Jayden bought for her at the Moose. How sweet!

The kids had to try out our new treadmill. I better too!

Claire played a little Gorf. She didn't appreciate Cole's tips!

Jayden says good-bye to Godmommy Dawn, who's leaving for Bismarck Sunday morning.

Jayden also said good-bye to Cole. Those two had a great time together!

The Viking game was on the agenda Sunday afternoon before Richard boarded the plane for Boise. Hope it turns out better than the disappointing loss the Boise State team experienced Friday night! Their first loss in two years!

The Vikings won!
